Homeowner Repair Assistance

  • Eligible homeowners receive home repair assistance through a 0% interest deferred payment loan.  When the property is sold and/or ownership transferred, the loan becomes due and payable.  If repair costs $5,000, you repay $5,000 from the proceeds of the sale.
  • Repair services focus on the major structural and mechanical elements of the home.  The goal is to maintain an affordable home for low income families to safely live in.
  • Typical repairs include roof, gutters, floor, windows, HVAC, siding and soffit replacement.
  • Extensive repair needs may require additional funding sources such as reverse mortgage loans, additional grant funding and/or Home Repair Collaborative loans provided by Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership.
