United North East CDC was organized in 1995 by the community to address the decaying housing stock and the loss of employment opportunities within northeast Indianapolis community.

United North East CDC’s mission is to build a better community.  Our vision is to stabilize and unite the neighborhoods of northeast Indianapolis and elevate the quality of life in the community by developing partnerships that enable us to provide affordable housing opportunities, increase neighborhood assets and encourage economic development initiatives.

This mission is achieved through affordable housing initiatives, job training and community enrichment programs.  Building strategic partnerships is our greatest resource towards achieving the redevelopment and revitalization goals within our community.  Partnerships with the community organizations, developers, private funders and government entities have resulted in more than 500 units of affordable housing worth more than $78.5 million.  These developments have included:

• $60 million affordable multifamily housing;
• $12.3 million affordable senior housing;
• $3.2 million in affordable homeownership opportunities; and
• $3 million in affordable and creative solutions for maintaining housing.

Because of these partnerships, we are well on our way to “Building a Better Community.”
